Susanrachel Condon


   Susanrachel, a.k.a. Birdie, graduated from the SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn Midwifery Program in 1998. She is a New York licensed  Midwife. She was certified to teach childbirth preparation, newborn care and breastfeeding in 1996 by the Childbirth Education Association of Metropolitan New York (CEAMNY). She served two terms as President of the CEAMNY Board of Directors. Susanrachel has also been a licensed Massage Therapist since 1991. She served on the faculty of the Swedish Institute College of Massage Therapy & Allied Health Sciences for more than ten years and currently participates extensively in their continuing education program. Since 1994, she has taught Bodywork for the Childbearing Cycle, a nationally accredited certification course for massage and bodywork professionals. She and her husband Richard, a massage therapist and certified Advanced Rolfer, have produced an advanced techniques video on the subject in addition to a labor massage DVD for couples and childbirth professionals. They have also lectured widely as private consultants at conferences, hospitals, birth centers, schools and spas. Susanrachel holds a BFA in Art Therapy from the School of Visual Arts, an MA in Liberal Studies from Brooklyn College. She has studied birth counseling with Gayle Peterson and counseling for pregnant survivors of sexual abuse with Penny Simkin.



Richard Condon


   Richard Condon CAR LMT is a Certified Advanced Rolfer and a Licensed Massage Therapist. He is the Director of the Balance Rolfing & Massage Studio in Gardiner NY and Co-Director of Niara Healing Arts. He was a staff therapist at the Ostrow Institute for Pain Management from 1995 to 2002. Richard's massage work is aimed at combining soft tissue manipulation with necessary adjustments in balance, posture and body mechanics to minimize myofascial and joint dysfunction. Richard developed and teaches his own therapeutic techniques in which joint range of motion is incorporated into soft tissue mobilization and combined with massage. These techniques often yields profound and lasting results. He is a graduate and member of The Rolf Institute. He holds a BA from the State University of New York, New Paltz. Richard is a competitive athlete and chess enthusiast.


Richard and Susanrachel are the parents of Hannah, Daniel and Malcolm.
